WorkSafe Bulletin: Inspect and maintain jeep pins, connections, and slider mechanisms
In a fatal incident, worn, broken, and missing parts in the pin assembly resulted in excessive movement of the rear pin in the slider mechanism. Along with inadequate spring tension, this caused the pin to dislodge. The jeep moved back and struck a worker. This video demonstrates how to make a simple gauge and check the bend radius of the U-bolts on your log truck. (5 min 50 s) |
